Gynaecology

Expert, personalised care for your gynecological health.

Women’s health services

We provide compassionate, world-class gynaecological care for women across London. Our specialist gynaecologists are dedicated to supporting your reproductive health at every stage of life—from adolescence to menopause—with cutting-edge diagnostics and personalised treatment plans.

Gynaecology is the branch of medicine focused on women’s reproductive health, covering the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. It involves preventive care (like Pap smears), diagnosis of conditions (PCOS, endometriosis), and treatments (hormone therapy, surgery). Gynaecologists also address menstrual disorders, fertility issues, and menopause management. Regular check-ups help detect cancer early (cervical, ovarian) and manage infections (UTIs, STIs). At London Diagnostic Centre, we provide expert, private care for all gynaecological needs in London.

What is Gynaecology ?

Gynaecology is a specialised branch of medicine dedicated to the health of the female reproductive system, focusing on the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. It covers a broad range of services, including preventive care such as cervical smears to screen for cervical cancer, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of common conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and fibroids. Gynaecologists also manage menstrual disorders, assist women with fertility challenges, and provide comprehensive care throughout menopause. Treatments can range from hormone therapy and lifestyle advice to surgical interventions, ensuring the well-being of women at every stage of life.

In addition to reproductive health, gynaecologists play a crucial role in the early detection and management of various health issues, such as cancers of the reproductive organs (cervical and ovarian cancers), urinary tract infections (UTIs), and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Regular check-ups are vital for maintaining overall reproductive health and preventing long-term complications. In North London, we offer expert, confidential care for all gynaecological concerns, ensuring that every patient receives personalised attention and treatment. Whether you require a routine examination or are dealing with more complex issues, our team is here to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to your individual needs.

FAQS

A gynaecologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the care of the female reproductive system. They diagnose and treat various conditions affecting the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina, and related organs. Gynaecologists also provide preventive care, fertility management, and perform surgeries when necessary.

Common conditions we treat include menstrual disorders (heavy/painful periods), PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and menopause symptoms. Many patients also present with pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) or cervical abnormalities. Early diagnosis through our scans and tests enables effective treatment of these women's health concerns.

It's recommended to have a gynecological exam once a year, even if you're healthy, to monitor your reproductive health, screen for issues like STIs, and address any concerns.

Menopause is the natural end of menstruation, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55. It marks the end of fertility and is accompanied by hormonal changes and symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.
